Fertility Counselling Care provides a number of specialised, personal, and confidential consultation sessions for you depending on what stage you are at in your donor conception family story.
They consist of a blend of psychoeducational content and supportive specialist fertility counselling.
Implications Counselling – If you are considering donor conception through an Irish Clinic it is mandatory to have one consultation with a Specialist Fertility Counsellor in advance of starting your donor cycle. Fertility Counselling Care has been working in association with many of the leading Irish Fertility Clinics and Reproductive Specialists providing Implications Counselling for over 10 years. If you wish to avail of this consultation as part of your clinic treatment plan a letter will be provided for your treating clinic stating you attended for Implications Counselling. This consultation is for one hour.
Prospective Parents Preparation – This two-hour specialist service is designed for both those who are thinking about using a donor to help conceive their family and for those who have decided for sure, to move forward with using a donor egg or donor sperm and who are already linked in with a Fertility Clinic in Ireland or abroad. This specialist service provides an in-depth opportunity to consider and explore the implications and meaning of egg donation or sperm donation and how as prospective parents you think and feel individually and as a couple about progressing and conceiving your family with the help of egg donation or sperm donation.
Starting Your Family Story of Donor Conception – This two-hour specialist service provides a comfortable and confidential space to explore your personal thoughts and feelings as you prepare to start your family story of donor conception with your child. Through identification and exploration of how and when to tell your child, this space and time is about helping you grow in confidence and to practise what you might say to your child, family and friends. This also includes a follow up consultation (one hour) to provide you with extra support as you start and continue your family story of donor conception.
All consultations are available to heterosexual couples, same sex couples & solo or choice parents.
